This page is for all english speaking invertebrate-friends all over the world. We are not
able to translate the whole site yet, but for now we bring you a summary of 1a-wirbellose.
All shrimps and crayfish you find on 1a-wirbellose we keep our self. We breed some of them and
if we have young shrimps you are able to buy some. It is a hobby and a litte bit science
but not for commercial purpose, this is why you may not find every shrimp or crayfish for sale any
time.
About 1a-wirbellose.de
We start beginning the summary on top of the main-page. The top header is the same for all following
pages. First of all you will find the 'Start'-link. As you may suggest it's our 'home'. The second link
named 'Garnelen' means shrimps and leads you to the shrimps we keep. Third link named 'Krebse' has the
meaning of crayfish and leads you to a list of all our crayfish. Number four is named 'Infos' and provides
many informations about keeping and breeding shrimps and crayfish. The fifth link is called 'Tipps'. There are
some hints for invertebrates to find. Sixth link (Termine) leads to invertebrate-dates in the north-german area.
And the last link is called 'Links' and provides you with links to other sites, books and many more interessting stuff.

Male shrimps of the caridina sp. „bee“ reach a size of approx. 20 mm while the females reach about 25 mm. The waterparameters are not reasonable for that kind of shrimps but there are reports that a bit softer water a little acescent brings best results. The water should be tempred between 20° und 28°. If you keep them with a dark bottom fill the color gets more intensive. Like many other our shrimps they like bunny pellets, frozen food, pills and artemia-salina. One of these shrimps cost: 8.00 Euro but is not available. |

The Darkblue/brown Tiger dwarfshrimp has an intensive blue coloring and brown parts on her back. From a higher distance they look very dark, almost black. Like the blue tiger dwarfshrimp they have shining orange eyes. The male blue-brown tiger dwarfshrimps reach approx. 25 mm and the females up to approx. 35 mm. As for most of the other shrimps for this one the waterparameters are not reasonable. The water temperature should be between 22 and 27° C. In a bit more alkaline water the shrimps are colored more intensive. If breeding this shrimps you should aware of color-mutations. These shrimps also eat the bunny pellets, fozen food and pills as well as artemia-salina. One of these shrimps cost: 15.00 Euro and is available. |

The Red Cherry back-stroke male shrimps reach a size of approx. 20 mm. The females reach up to 25 mm. The waterparameters are not reasonable for the Red Cherry shrimp and the water should be tempered between 18 and 28° C. If you keep them toghether with Corydoras sterbai the Red Cherry with back-stroke shrimps get more intesive colored, the females a little bit more than the male shrimps. Summary of crayfish (Krebse)
Cambarellus patzcuarensis sp. orange
The male cambarellus patzcuarensis sp. orange reaches a size up to approx. 30 mm. The females reach approx. 40 mm. The water should not be too soft but overall the waterparameters are not reasonable. The water should be tempered with min. 10° and max. 25° C. You should provide them with many hidingplaces where they can go while skinning (ecdysis). They don't eat plants and do not hunt fish. It has been told that sometimes they catch snoopy viviparous. They don't like the bunny pellets but they like frozen food, living food and artemia-salina. One Cambarellus patzcuarensis sp. orange cost: 10.00 Euro and is available. |
Cherax holthuisi
The Cherax holthuisi reaches a size up to approx. 8 bis 10 cm. The waterparameters are not reasonable and the temperature should be between 20 und 25° C. This crayfish needs many hidingplaces. If you don't provide them they will build them on their own. They are friendly also among each other. They like green pills, frozen food and living food as well as artemia-salina, thesy don't like the bunny pellets. It is necessary to provide this crayfish with oak or beech leaves. For the breed it is important. They dont' eat plants. One Cherax holthuisi cost: ?? Euro but is not available. |
Cherax sp. “Zebra” (cf. papuanus)
The male Cherax sp. “Zebra” (cf. papuanus) reaches approx. 10 cm while the females reach approx. 12 cm size. The water should not be too soft but overall the waterparameters are not reasonable. The water should be tempered with min. 20° and max. 25° C. If you don't provide them with hidingplaces they will build them on their own. They are very friendly also among each other. They don't like the bunny pellets but they like frozen food, living food and artemia-salina. It is necessary to provide this crayfish with oak or beech leaves. For the breed it is important.
