The males of the Dwarf Orange crayfish reach a length of approx. 30 mm. The females approx. 40 mm. They can tolerate a wide range of water parameters, but the water should not be overly soft. The temperature should lie between 10-25° C (50-77° F). Patzcuarensis var. orange should be provided with many hiding places where it can retreat during the molt. It does not damage plants, nor does it hunt fish. However, this does not mean it would not snatch up a guppy fry that carelessly swims into reach, for example. Dwarf crayfish do not eat rabbit pellets but do like frozen foods, live foods, and artemia.

An animal of this kind costs: 8.00 euros and is available.
